Well the parties have come and gone and the guests have left the building. Saturday's party consisted of 10 seven year olds. It was fun and the two hours went by surprisingly fast. We played "musical balloons" and "carry the apple on a huge spoon". Then came cake and ice cream. One of the little girls asked if she could help me with the cake and ice cream. I took her up on it and I was quite surprised that she came out of it clean. Mackenzie loved all of her gifts. All of the girls were way too generous. After that we played a couple more games and the girls danced to a CD that was a gift. I think they all left happy. Mackenzie was really excited that one of her friends that she went to preschool and kindergarten with was able to come.
Sunday was a little more hectic. Mackenzie had her last day of Sunday school. All families were invited to attend and each class put on a skit of things that they had learned during the year. They are all very cute. Afterwards we had donuts and juice. This lasted longer than I thought it would. It was 11 before we got home and had tons of food to get ready. I was only doing finger foods, but it got out of hand. Our guests arrived at 1:30 - a half hour earlier than planned, but that was ok. RJ forgot to buy paper plates and I had to call my sister and ask her to stop on her way. We sat around and ate and talked and had a great time. Again, Mackenzie got so much stuff. We are truly blessed to have such great family and friends. I cannot say thank you enough to them.
